Good Day is a free tool made by two people. Use it for teaching, don't abuse it, and keep your own backups — your classroom data lives on your device, and we can't recover it for you. You're responsible for making sure you're allowed to enter student information under your school's rules.
Good Day is operated by Evan Cox and Kyle Gaddis, in Louisville, Kentucky. In these terms, "we" and "us" mean them, and "you" means the person using Good Day. "Good Day" means the web application at app.gooddayconsole.com, the site at gooddayconsole.com, and anything we make available through them.
By using Good Day you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use it — there's nothing to cancel, because there's nothing to sign up for.
Good Day is built for teachers and other educators, and it's intended for adults. You must be 18 or older to use it. It is not designed for, marketed to, or intended to be used directly by children, and students should not be given accounts or asked to enter their own information.
If you use Good Day as part of your job at a school, you're confirming that you're permitted to do so under your employer's policies.
This is the part that matters most, so it's in plain language.
Good Day lets you record information about the children you teach: names, birthdays, attendance, behaviour points, and free-text notes. That information is yours and your school's, not ours. We provide the tool; you decide what goes into it.

We don't sell, rent, share, or mine your data, and we don't use it to train anything. What we do with it is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
If your school or district needs a signed data-protection agreement before staff can use a tool like this, please get in touch before using Good Day with real student data. We'd rather have that conversation early.
Good Day is offline-first by design. By default, everything you enter lives in your browser's local storage on one device. That has real advantages — it's fast, it works without a network, and your data isn't sitting on someone else's server. It also has one real risk, and we'd rather be blunt about it:
Export your data periodically from Settings → Data. It takes a few seconds and produces a file that doesn't depend on us, on your browser, or on anything continuing to work. We can't recover data for you, because in most cases we never had it.
Signing in is optional. If you choose to, Good Day uses Google Sign-In, and your synced data is stored in Google Cloud Firestore. If you use the optional Google Sheets integration, data goes from your browser to a script you control. If you embed Google Slides, that content is served by Google.
Those services have their own terms and privacy policies, and we don't control them. If Google changes, breaks, or discontinues something Good Day relies on, the corresponding feature may stop working.
Good Day is currently free. There's no subscription, no contract, and no guaranteed level of service. We may change features, or stop offering it altogether. If we ever introduce paid features, existing functionality that you already rely on won't be taken away without notice on this page.
To the fullest extent the law allows, Good Day is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind — express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We don't warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data will be preserved.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost data, lost time, or lost opportunities arising from your use of Good Day. Because Good Day is provided free of charge, our total liability to you for any claim relating to it is limited to the amount you have paid us, which is zero.
Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Everything you enter into Good Day belongs to you. We claim no ownership of it and no licence to use it beyond what's technically required to operate the features you've chosen to use — for example, storing your roster so it can sync to your other devices.
The Good Day name, design, and code belong to us.
You can stop using Good Day at any time. To remove your data, use Settings → Data to export what you want to keep, then Factory Reset, which clears local data and deletes your synced records. We may suspend access for anyone abusing the service or putting others' data at risk.
If we change these terms materially, we'll update the effective date above and note what changed. Continuing to use Good Day after that means you accept the revised terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
